Day 14 & 15 : Canggu

Day 14 : We checked into Kaen Apartments for only 3 hours. We barely get 2 hours sleep when our guide woke us up at 1:30am. We did almost 3 hours drive to the base camp, where we had a quick breakfast and started climbing the Mount Batur. It was very cold and humid once we arrived on top we have to wait till sunrise, but unfortunately the sky wasn’t clear so we couldn’t see anything (cf below picture). It was another big sunrise failure for me (remember the one I had in Hawaii 3 years ago)… Anyway, as our guide said it’s mostly like that, you have to be very lucky to have a crystal clear sky, it happens around 5/6 times a month. In the afternoon we checked into our last hotel Zin, which was beyond my expectation!! We went for lunch at Moana followed by our last – 60 mins full body massage – keratin, hair treatment – manicure/pedicure and full body waxing (so much needed at this point of the trip)! For …

Day 11, 12 & 13 : Flores

Day 11 : We went to Atlantis on the Rock and spent all day there. We were the only clients and our waiter treat us like princesses. Day 12 : Was a very relaxing day we only moved from the pool for lunch at the very cool Italian restaurant ”Made in Italy’‘. Day 13 : Last day at Labuan Bajo, we spent most of our day sleeping by the pool before catching our late afternoon flight back to Bali.

Day 9 & 10 : Labuan Bajo

Day 9 : I have literally 0 pictures of that day as we spent half of it in a spa getting several treatments and the other half eating and tanning by the pool… Here is one photo of our daily watermelon juices. Day 10 : We woke up at 4am and took a boat for a tour. First stop was Padar Island, we walked all the way up, took few pictures and walked back down. We had 1h to spend on the island which was quick but enough to enjoy the view. The second stop was the Pink beach, one of the most beautiful beach I have ever seen!! As you can notice on the pictures, the sand was proper pink and clean, the sea was so blue that it looked like a pool! Third stop was Komodo park, everyone went to the National park to see the Komodo dragons, I didn’t go inside because I am afraid of them. I barely saw one running on the beach from the boat and was literally terrorized! …

Day 7 & 8 : Ayana Komodo

Day 7 : The plan was to travel back to Bali and take a flight to Labuan Bajo but nothing went as planned because of a sea ”storm”. We took a tiny boat from Gili Meno to Gili T then a Bigger boat from Gili T to Lombok. Once there we figure it out with the owner of the boat company that we wouldn’t be on time in Bali and will miss our flight for sure. He helped us book a new flight with a local airline from Lombok to Flores and help us to find a cab to cross the island (2h30 drive) and go to the airport. Even if we completely lost our flight tickets from Bali and were super stressed we managed to arrive is our amazing hotel 1 hour earlier than initially planned… We checked in at Ayana at 3pm and didn’t do anything much for the rest of the day. The hotel was stunning and just walking around, go to the beach, to the pool and hang out to our …

Day 5 & 6 : Gili Meno

Day 5 : We woke up at 5am, check out our hotel and went for a tour with our driver/friend. We first went to Kelingking beach, the weather wasn’t amazing, but it was still very hot. The sea was crazy and make us nervous for our boat transfer later on… We then stopped by Broken beach before heading to the harbour. We left Nusa Penida, took a fast boat to Gili T and a small one to Gili Meno. We checked into our hotel and chill by the pool for the rest of the day. Day 6 : We rented a boat to see the underwater statues and it was a big fail. It was proper crowded. My advise is to go as early as you can to avoid people.
